Explore the outdoor challenge of the Southern Tagalog Region (Region IV) as it showcases its numerous bio-diversity with exciting eco-tourism attractions in this year’s presentation of “Philippines’ Bests! 2005” at the Clamshell 1, Intramuros, Manila on July 8-31, 2005.

Without having to travel far, Tourism Secretary Joseph ‘Ace’ Durano invites the public to a beach holiday and eco-tourism adventure at Intramuros as it presents the wealth and wonders of the region.

“What’s good about this year’s exhibit is the line up of activities especially prepared for the adventure seekers and nature lovers,” Durano said “Visitors will not only get to experience the colorful events in store for them but also participate in outdoor activities such as wall climbing and rapelling.”

Beach holidays and eco-tourism is the “Philippines’ Bests!” third quarter theme. All regions that fall under this period will show off its best beaches and natural resources. In the exposition of the Southern Tagalog region, visitors will be treated with its wide array of adventure and eco-tourism attractions. Tourism attractions from its 9 provinces to be showcased will surely give the adventure seekers an array of choices in scuba diving, mountain climbing, trekking and caving.

Have a glimpse of Southern Tagalog’s outstanding biodiversity of its forest reserves such as Mt. Makiling, Mt. Guiting Guiting and Taal Volcano. Discover the region’s rich marine parks like the Apo Reef, Puerto Galera, Anilao, and Verde Island and plan your dream adventure holidays after the hibernation of monsoon months.

The largest region with nine provinces will have two phases of exhibits. CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon), known for its scenic beauty and historic sites will take the spotlight from July 8 to 18, while MIMARO (Mindoro Oriental, Mindoro Occidental, Marinduque and Romblon) which are very popular eco-tourism and adventure destinations.

“Philippines’Bests! 2005” at Intramuros is open everyday from 10:00a.m. until 12midnight, except on Mondays when it opens at 4:00p.m. to 10p.m. Admission is Free
