Department of Tourism backs formation of Spa Association of the Philippines Inc.


Tourism Secretary Roberto Pagdanganan lauds the formation of the Spa Association of the Philippines Inc. that will uphold the standards and ethics of the spa industry in the country.

The association, which is composed of accredited firms, providers, health and wellness facilities aims to professionalize the business by ensuring a high standard of service and facilities likewise develop a unique branding or image of the Spa industry in the Philippines.

The Department of Tourism's drive in promoting health tourism in the country includes the promotion of spa tourism, which is popular in many countries for its beauty and therapeutic benefits. Health tourism, combining wellness and leisure will attract more foreign and local tourists in the country at the same time boost local herbal industry and promote traditional Filipino culture.
