Imagine yourself away from the urban rat race. You are in a tranquil place sorrounded by the azure sky and pristine waters, sipping your favorite drink or simply enjoying a freshly picked coconut under its shady leaves, the fresh wibd blowing through your hair and simply enjoying the view or the sunset in the many beaches of the Philippines. Ah what a life!
If you are searching for a beach destination to go, then you need not to worry. The Philippines hosts numerous splendid beaches that draw not only the locals but foreign tourists as well - all year round. Considering the more than 7,100 islands the Philippines archipelago has, it comes as no surprise that the country is known as the home of the best beaches in the world.
In is the reason that PILMAP Travel and Leisure Magazine embarked on a special project - Beaches of the Philippines, its special edition to highlight the many beaches of the country. In its magazine launch at the Shangri-la Mall, more than 30 of the countries best beaches and resort destinations has been featured through a photo exhibit and fashion show.
The special edition brings to fore the unique traits that set each of these beach and resort destinations apart. "It entailed going to various places around the country, behaving like ordinary tourists and discovering the true nature of these places beyond the hype" according to Pilmap Travel and Leisure publisher, Gabriel Dela Cruz.
"We have our shares of discoveries, relates Vic Lactaoen, the special edition's project editor. In these pages, you'll find little-heard-of places like Lakawon White Island Resort in Cadiz Viejos Negros Occidental, a no frills haven for beachcombers and Costa Aguada, one of the large islandsin Guimaras, where one can fancy the hacienda lifestyle of the Negrenses. There is also the dappled beaches of Bicol including of Bacon and Caramoan.
Since publishing its maiden issue three and a half years ago, Pilmap Travel and Leisure Magazine has managed to turn itself into more than just a tourist map publication. One of the few globally circulated Filipino publication with its pioneering brand of travel journalism - has become a clear alternative as a unique voice in providing a reference point to Filipinos overseas and travelers to the Philippines navigating the often rough terrain of travels in the islands.
This will be the first time that anyone has ever published a special edition magazine that caters specially to the global Filipino and will come out in time for the country's summer break. The Management of PILMAP Travel and Leisure Magazine is confident that this timely initiative will prove effective in consolidating the image and increase awareness of the Philippines as a major beach destination in the world.
Department of Tourism Secretary Roberto M. Pagdanganan and Sports Celebrity Dianne Castillejo were the guests of honor during the magazine launch.
Beaches of the Philippines is a special travel publication aimed at promoting the Philippines as a prime beach holiday destination. It is a timely and worthy undertaking and is just the perfect vehicle for a promotional campaign on Philippine Tourism.
