02 March 2004 DOT offers Korean language training program to tourism frontliners
The Department of Tourism (DOT) will conduct a 40-day (120 hours) Korean Language Training Program for basic level on April 12-June 5 and for advance level on June 14-August 7 with classes starting at 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Training Room of DOT building, T.M. Kalaw St. Ermita, Manila.
To qualify for the training program in both levels, participants must be college graduates, proficient in the English language and of good moral character. However, in the advance level, priority will be given to students who have graduated from the basic level.
Interested parties can secure and submit application form at the Standards Development Division of DOT. Seminar fee is P500.00/participant.
The program aims to provide a basic appreciation of the requirements and culture of Korean tourists. Likewise, it will serve as induction and awareness program to tour guides, tour operators/travel agencies and other tourism related establishments, which are directly and indirectly involved with the reception and handling Korean guests.
