Philippine Destinations on top in New7Wonders.com

Tomorrow, December 13, there will be only 19 days left to vote for the national nominee to represent the Philippines in the global race to choose the official New7Wonders of Nature.

The good news is clear: the Philippines, besting all other nominees, has secured the eminent spot in the race, with Puerto Princesa Subterranean River proving strong in the first rank.

The underground river in Palawan has continue to lead, followed by Tubbataha Reef, no. 4, and Chocolate Hills, no. 5, in representing the Philippines.

Other national wonders such as the Mayon Volcano, Hundred Islands National Park, Mount Pinatubo and Taal Volcano, are also supported candidates in the race.

Tourism Secretary Joseph Ace Durano, said, “This sustained support from people the world over and has been evident in the present rankings of our country’s nominees. We are calling all Filipinos to make their mark and be part of this historic undertaking as we campaign for New7Wonders of Nature.” (more…)

Puerto Princesa Subterranean River no. 1

After dropping down to top 20 last month, the Philippines’ four candidates for the New 7 Wonders of Nature are currently showing a strong presence, landing on the top 11 live online ranking of 77 nominees from around the globe.

As of September 29, Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park is at no. 1, Chocolate Hills is at no. 4, closely followed by Tubbataha Reef at no. 5 while Mayon Volcano is at no. 11.
