Davao, most competitive city hosts, Kadayawan, the most competitive festival

Kadayawan, the most competitive festival and Davao the most competitive city is the next celebrated “lethal combination” since Manny Pacquaio and David Diaz.

Fresh from a jubilant celebration last month from the sensational win of its most popular adopted Dabawenyo and new WBC Lightweight boxing champion Manny Pacquiao, Davao City goes on to celebrate one of its most festive celebrations barely a month from now.

This momentous month of August 2008 comes at a time after the city got another feather in its cap as the country’s most competitive city this year, according to a study conducted by the prestigious Asian Institute of Management (AIM).

Davao City , again took the honors of being the most competitive city getting the highest marks in such domain as sea and air travel infrastructures and the low cost of doing business.

The comprehensive study accorded Davao City top spots in terms of its readiness as a major business and tourist destinations owning two major port of entries, the Sasa seaport and the Davao International Airport .

Both international and national port of entries are easily accessible in a short travel time from the major commercial and trading hub of downtown Davao and the adjoining cities and provinces.

According to major business and tourism players in Davao and the adjoining regions, this is all about competition after all. (more…)
