“Golgotha in Dolores” is Abra’s attraction to tourists this Lenten season and hopes to generate jobs and incomes to families around the project site.
The project is located in Bantay Itlog (named after the egg-shape formation of the hill) in Brgy. Lublubba, the highest point in the municipality of Dolores. Three crosses are put up on top of the hill to remind us, catholic devotees, of the suffering and death of our Lord Jesus Christ and the salvation of mankind.
One can clearly see from atop the hill, the whole of Abra province especially the scenic giant-snake-like Abra River criss-crossing the valleys of Abra and the destructions made on the farmlands along its bank.
Since the Crosses are erected on top of the hill, the countless devotees of the Cross are given a chance to do a pilgrimage there especially during the Lenten season. (more…)
