Conde Nast Traveler, the largest circulated and most popular travel magazine in the United States voted Palawan as a tourist destination with the Best Beaches Overall in Asia in its October 2007 issue. Palawan has been cited for its outstanding attractions like Tubbataha Reef Marine Park and St. Paul Subterranean River National Park, both listed under the UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites. (more…)

Shangri-La’s Mactan Resort and Spa

Paradise.

That’s how I would describe Shangri-La’s Mactan Island Resort in one word.
I’ve stayed in the hotel twice already, once in 2000 and the most recent just last February. In between, I’ve visited the hotel on day trips. The place always manages to amaze me.

The rooms are splendidly designed and fully furnished. The beds, pillows and linen guarantee a good night’s sleep. Other amenities include the television, minibar, ref, inroom safe and the bathroom which has its own tub. (more…)

Davao City — In its effort to promote the province of Davao Oriental as the Surfing Sensation of Mindanao, the Department of Tourism XI in cooperation with MPN Events Unlimited will be holding the 1st SURF n’ SkimBoarding Safari on September 14-16, 2007 at Dahican Beach, Mati City, Davao Oriental.

The activity hopes to market the beautiful beaches and captivating coastlines of Davao Oriental as well as advocate environmental awareness. During the said event will be the launching of DOT’s “Baybay nato ni Bay” – a Coastal Management Campaign. (more…)
