Tagbilaran City — SIMULTANEOUS tree planting activities in Bohol turned in at least 18,939 seedlings of narra and mahogany planted in military reservations, open public lands in an hour as the government launched the Trees for Life with 2 million trees all over the country by 2010.
The Bohol figure was reported by at least two military units who joined President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo, representatives from government and non-government organizations and volunteers in affirming the commitment to protect the environment through the Trees for Life (TFL) project Wednesday, July 18. The Philippines has revoked a permit issued to a South Korean company to build a spa resort on a restive volcano just outside the capital, an official said Friday.
