World-Class Oceanarium in the Philippines Launched

Manila Ocean Park launched its Oceanarium in a ceremony attended by Her Excellency President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo and key government officials last February 29, 2008. This facility is envisioned to showcase the rich and diverse marine life of the Philippines which has been recently declared as the center of the center of marine shore fish bio-diversity in the world.

The Oceanarium features 20,000 exotic and colorful fishes, majority of which come from the waters of the Philippines. Manila Ocean Park has installed a state-of-the-art life support systems and facilities to maintain the good health of animals and ensure their safety.

The park is set to be one of the country’s world-class tourist attractions that can rival other similarly-themed parks in Asia. It is expected to draw millions of visitors on its first year, offering a beyond the usual tourist experience as well as unique shopping opportunities. Aside from the aquatic display, park visitors can also enjoy the glass-bottomed boat ride, the 20-foot acrylic underwater tunnel, and the activity center where many interactive devices impart information about the oceans surrounding the Philippines and the creatures that live in them. Luneta Hotel: Through the Test of Time

The Luneta Hotel along Teodoro M. Kalaw St. corner Dewey Boulevard (now Roxas Boulevard) faces Manila Bay.

Luneta Hotel was built in 1918 and was considered one of the few remaining French inspired architecture in Manila that stood the test of time. The National Historical Institute already declared Luneta Hotel as a National Historical Landmark. (more…)

Manila Light Rail Transit Purple Line

The Manila Light Rail Transit Purple Line is the second line of the Manila Light Rail Transit System. The line contains eleven stations and runs over 13.8 kilometers of mostly elevated track, with the exception of Katipunan station, which is underground.
