Last February was my “semi annual” trip back to Davao City. This time we decided to go south of Davao, particularly Mati Davao Oriental. On our 3 days 2 night stay, our first stop over was of all places, along the highway overlooking the “sleeping dinosaur”. The view was very, very nice.

After depositing our stuff at the Tourism complex (imagine the overnight stay with two double beds and an extra bed was only P550! that’s with its own T&B). We went straight to the still under construction Kapitolyo with the view of the sea. I got my glimpse of Mati sunset at their very own baywalk hehehe.

Next day we packed up our stuff and moved to the Botona Beach Resort @ Dahican (overnight stay was priced at P1,500.00). Then just a little before lunch we packed our food and went to Cinco Beach Resort @ Masao where we had our lunch and waited for our bangkero to pick us up and deposit us to Wanniban Island. I was in for a surprise! Thou i know that there can’t be another beach front with the same powdery white sand as that of Boracay, still Wanniban proved me wrong! The sand was powdery smooth and white, my feet gets lost everytime i stepped on it! the waters were so clear and you can actually see the the colors of the sea from clear to green to blue!

Â

Â

before heading home, we dropped by the Mayo beach Resort, where the infinity pool was definitely a site to behold. Water from the pool goes directly out to the sea…

Our stay in Mati was another wonderful revelation of the beauty of our country of the pristine beaches, untouched and “virgin” locations of our provinces. Once again, I can say that I am proud to be a Filipino! hehehehe
