The schedule was furnished to PIA by the Department of Transportation and Communication and was confirmed as of January 11, 2008 by the respective airline representatives. DOTC however stressed that such schedule may change without prior notice and therefore advises the clients of the different airlines to confirm their flight schedules with their respective airlines or travel agents prior to their scheduled flight.

The flying public is also advised to check in at least two hours before their scheduled flight.

From the present airport in Bacolod City, it takes approximately an hour travel at 60kph during a light-moderate traffic situation but the flying public should consider extra time in going to the new airport in Brgy. Bagtic in Silay City.

DOTC will also install road signages and arrows leading to the New Bacolod-Silay Airport along the 4.7-kilometer of the McKinley Road to guide those coming to the new airport.

The butterfly garden displays the life cycle of butterflies, its different species as well as how they are fed and grown. Live predators of butterflies found at the resort like tarantula, wild geckos, scorpions, millipedes and centipedes, among others were also displayed for educational purposes.

The garden is a must-see for families on a Mambukal outing and also offers interesting information for students on educational trips.

The garden also has a souvenir shop selling items such as frames of dried butterflies and printed t-shirts at reasonable prices.

The 28th Bocolod City Masskara Festival opens with a simple rite at the Masskara Village to signal the start of the month-long celebration.

This year, major streets in the city will be activated to be the site of various celebrations and events in addition to the city plaza. 5th street to the whole stretch of Lacson Street will be transformed to be the venue of Electric Masskara where bands and street parties are set.

Meanwhile, Teleperformance is set to hold a public speaking workshop for the 10 lovely Masskara Queen candidates.

The objective of the 3-hour workshop is to get the candidates speak to audience with authority and confidence during the pageant night. Among the topics to be discussed on the workshop are: Tips on public speaking; how to overcome stage fright and the dos and don’ts when on stage.

It is our goal that these ladies will have an exemplary performance when it comes to their speech despite fears that hovers them while on stage and facing the multitude of crowd on the night of the event, said Arbolario.

Arbolario added that they hope that candidates will also be able to boost their self-esteem through this workshop.

“It is going to be, yet again, the biggest Masskara ever. This just gets bigger every year,” festival director Eli F. Tajanlangit said. (CMO/PIA)
