Boracay Island Philippines
“We are planning to place streamers in strategic locations of Boracay Island to remind tourists to take care of their personal belongings and be vigilant so that they will not be victimized by the syndicate,” Vilar said.
It was learned that since November of last year, scores of tourists and even residents have been victimized by the series of robberies on Boracay Island.
Although some of the suspects were arrested, some of the victims were not interested in pursuing a case against them.
It is expected that more tourists will troop to this resort island during the Holy Week.

Robbery is not an isolated case in the Philippines. This is as rampant as corruption in the government.
Security, Peace and Order should always be in the priority list should we want to excel and be at par with other international destinations…
It safe to say whenever you are abroad in any country you should be extra vigilant and not let your guard down …… when in the holiday / tourist mode !
You are responsible on your own stuff, so if you don’t want to be a victim, take my advice, be extra alert and don’t easily trust people. This advice is not only applicable in the Philippines BTW, you should do this anywhere you go. Robbery is a common crime around the world.
