The Department of Tourism (DoT) is reportedly coming out with a book to promote the museums in Western Visayas.

Sumrah Rojo, curator of the museum here, said that the DoT regional office is expected to be at the Kalibo Museum Wednesday to document the museum.

The tourism agency is also set to visit other museums in the region. “The museum in Kalibo has been recently devastated by typhoon Frank. We are still trying to restore the content of the museum just like before,” Rojo said.

Among the major memorabilia which could be found in the Kalibo museum are the artifacts of Archbishop Gabriel Reyes, the first Filipino archbishop in the country; Cardinal Jaime Sin and Congressman Godofredo Ramos considered as the father of the province.

Aside from these Aklanon personalities, the Museum is also home to several memorabilia of the Kalibo Sto. Nino Ati-atihan Festival considered as the mother of the Philippine festivals.
