Manila and the Philippines is the best kept secret on this planet. I visit often and absolutely love Manila. It has it's pluses and minuses but overall I love the islands.

One unique sight in Manila's Chinatown are the horse drawn carriages you'll see through the streets. They are called calesas. You might also be surprised to see ornate Baroque-style churches lining the streets including Ongpin St (main street through Chinatown). Many of the Chinese residents of Binondo are actually Catholics. In fact, one of the oldest churches in the Philippines is the Basilica de San Lorenzo Ruiz, located in Chinatown.
