Microtel Boracay’s Room with a View
Our second day in Boracay was a bit rainy. I was quite disappointed because I wanted to take photos of the beach without too much crowd and of course without the humid temperature.
After our breakfast, we were supposed to go Island Hopping but it was postponed and moved on the afternoon schedule due to heavy rains. While its raining everyone is in the lobby having a coffee overload, some are downloading photos, sharing blogging tips, sharing gossips (haha) and some are surfing the net. We waited till 10:00am then went straight to Tesebel’s Ihaw-Ihaw to have our early lunch.
They served Fish Sinigang, Inihaw na Sugpo, Chicken Barbeque, Inihaw na Liempo, Pancit Canton and Rice. Right after our lunch, we walked from the restaurant to Puka Beach for photo session since nobody plans to swim while it’s raining. Ivan needs to leave after our group photo session to attend his class in UP (too bad).
The waves in Puka Beach are quite bigger but its still good for swimming. We (Me, Gail, Marc and Lauren) enjoyed swimming and playing with the waves. Imagine the big waves splashing all over your body and playing like kids, Ahh! No experience quite like it!
Island Hopping
The group went back to the hotel to prepare for our next activity – Island Hopping, snorkeling and Fish Feeding. We enjoyed touring around the island but never got the chance to see and the colorful school of fish in the southern tip of the island, Oh well, maybe fishes doesn’t like the rain too… Back to the Hotel..
The rain finally stopped, I took a nap just to for me to stay up for our dinner in white beach to be hosted by Zuzuni later on. In less than 20 minutes, we finally reached Zuzuni. Everyone became busy taking their own photos of the restaurants facade and Greek inspired interior design. Before serving the appetizer, Aileen – the beautiful host, gave us a background about the boutique hotel and restaurant and why it was called Zuzuni. The food starts to overflow, I literally have to stand up and smoke hoping that my stomach will provide some more space for the dessert. If you are a chocolate lover, you definitely have to try their signature dessert called Chocolate Sin.
After the dinner, we strolled along the beach to look for sand castles. We had a chance to have a group photo with these majestic sand sculptures on our first day but we were not complete. This fairytale sand castles has totally different charm at night, the castle is surrounded by little candles or kerosene torch which makes it more appealing. If you want to take a picture, be sure to donate them a few pesos, especially as some of these locals are homeless.
Even though the weather is not cooperative, it didn’t stop us to enjoy our second day activity.
It’s the same hotel wherever you go
I had a very good sleep during my two night stay, maybe because the hotel location is far from the “party” area and far from being disturbed by the loud disco music speakers but aside from that I found out that Ann of Microtel was right, “Beds in Microtel are extraordinary”. According to Teddy Lim of Microtel, All beds of Microtel Hotel and Resorts here in the Philippines are imported from the US. These specially designed chiropractic (“healthy for the back”) beds are popularized by Microtel Inns and Suites worldwide.
It’s my first time to stay in Microtel Boracay and I really enjoyed it. One thing different with Microtel Boracay from other Microtel branches is its Mediterranean design which perfectly blended with its location. Another thing that impressed me is Microtel Boracay’s spacious lobby, quiet location, la carte restaurant and their friendly and hospitable staff.
