Marco Polo Hotel Davao hotel gains another acclaim

The Marco Polo Hotel Davao emerged as one of the finalists from among 8,000 hotels worldwide that were surveyed by HotelClub.com on consumer survey.

General Manager Stanley Lau of Marco Polo Davao during the 8th Anniversary of Club 888 Business and Tourism Forum held at Saranggani, The Deck’s function room at the 4th level said the new recognition is also their way of giving back to their clients the benefit of good service.

“It also shows how good we are in Mindanao,” he said.

He said after being awarded Highest in Guest Satisfactory among Marco Polo chain of hotels in Asia for two years in a row, Marco Polo Davao has once again drawn attention to its name as it was positioned among Asia’s best hotels and resorts.

The event held in Hong Kong last July 26 by Hotel Club revealed the list of Asia’s Best Hotels and Resorts at Café Deco at The Peak where the gala ceremony gathered representatives from 4,500 nominated hotels across Asia.

The HotelClub.com is the leading online accommodation that conducted the global consumer survey from October to December 2006.

In a press statement it said that Halifax Davao Hotel, Inc. Vice President Francis Ledesma and Marco Polo Davao Director for Sales and Marketing Art Boncato attended the grand affair to witness the hotel’s recognition in among the shortlist of 350 finalists.

Marco Polo Davao is the only finalist in the Southern region and it is now ranked among its fellow finalists in the Philippines such as the Shangrila properties, Mandarin Hotel, Manila Peninsula, Hyatt Hotel, and Amanpulo Lau whose tour of duty in Davao has been extended said that they saw within two years the growth of Davao.

He said alongside this development they are also giving back to their customers and the community more facilities and more ambiance at the hotel area.

He said they make sure that the expansion and improvement of the hotel happens in time for Christmas although there are other sites which are geared up for soft opening when Davao City celebrates Kadayawan Festival next week.

The other new facilities all located at the fourth level are Polo Bistro (a restaurant) and the Lazuli Spa. (PIA XI)
