The province of Zambales is located at the Western part of Luzon. It is 210 kilometers and approximately 3 hours drive away from Manila. Zambales is known to be a province of easy access. One can reach this piece of haven by land, air, or water. The Zambales road is also known to be one of the Phillipines’ best scenic highways. Experience Zambales at its best!
Zambales’ Coastline is most famous for its white sandy beaches and deep blue-sea, rich with coral reefs. One of which is Potipot Island. Romantics may relish the drama of spending a day at Capones Island, peering through the lighthouse’s solitary window, and reflecting on the Luzon vista. Not to miss the breathtaking views of the panoramic surroundings of Pundaquit while waiting for the sunset in Silanguin Bay.
How to get there
From Manila, take the North Expressway and exit at San Fernando. Â From San Fernando, head southwestward all the way toward Olongapo City. Â Right before the city boundary of Olongapo, there is a bypass way via the Subic Base Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) which you may want to take to avoid passing through the city. Â Take this bypass road through SBMA then head northwestward to Subic town, Castillejos, then San Marcelino then westward to San Antonio. At San Antonio, you will head southwestward to Pundaquit. Â At this point you may want to ask directions from the folks at San Antonio, on where to pass to reach the road that leads to Pundaquit as this road is behind rather circuitous village roads.
The road to Pundaquit is a narrow but amazingly well constructed concrete road. Â At Pundaquit proper, you will have several beach resorts to choose from. Â At these resorts, you can directly hire a fishing boat to take you to Capones Island.
