Yoga at Amanpulo

Hello there! Are you now planning for your next Summer Vacation in the Philippines? Checkout our list of Hotels in the Philippines for your accommodation needs.

yoga philippinesUntil the end of December 2007, Amanpulo will be home to resident yoga master Nitesh Rajan, who will guide guests daily through a complimentary yoga session drawing on his knowledge of Asthanga and Kundalini yoga styles.

Set on its own private island of Pamalican in the Philippines, Amanpulo is surrounded by white-sand beaches, crystal-clear aquamarine waters and a coral reef only 300 metres from shore.

Guests are met at Manila’s Ninoy Aquino International Airport and transferred to the Amanpulo lounge. Refreshments and reading materials are available during the transit. The scenic one-hour flight takes guests 360km south-west to the private island of Pamalican, landing on Amanpulo’s own airstrip.

Amanpulo is an island haven offering a wide range of water sports including diving, snorkelling, game fishing, sailing, water-skiing, windsurfing and island-hopping. Nature walks, star gazing and tennis are also available. Based on the traditional Philippine bahay kubo or native dwelling, Amanpulo’s 40 casitas are located in various settings – by the white-sand beach, amongst the treetops in the tropical foliage or perched on the hillside overlooking the Sulu Sea.

Having taken his post graduate in yoga psychology at the Bihar School of Yoga in India, Nitesh’s sessions will focus on strengthening the body and increasing flexibility in combination with meditation to clear the mind. Guests may enjoy daily complimentary yoga sessions at 7am at the Picnic Retreat or arrange for private classes with Nitesh.

There is no doubt that yoga, as well as other types of relaxation methods (reiki, meditation) can be directly related to actual pain relief. The big argument in the Reiki community is whether Ki actually exists or whether pain relief is soley caused by relaxation techniques in general. I am a long time fan of yoga and agree that it does help in many ways.
