coffee break island - jack danielsIndefinable comes to mind upon hearing Coffeebreak Island’s unique musical fusion of ska, reggae and rock & roll flavors. The magnetic groove comes in an intruiging and delectable blend. Admit it or not, song after song gets better and better and once you dance to them, your new-found abandon won’t let you stop. The boys finally serve up a warm cup of unpretentious rhythms with the launch of their self-titled debut album.

After enchanting the local ska and reggae scene and with notable hits like Let You Go from Full Volume, Party Song from Silver Shiny Jeepney, and Sweet Lovin’ from Doobie Nights, this four-man ensemble has pieced together a 14-track album inspired by The Specials, The Selecter, The English Beat, Hepcat, Toots & The Maytals, Bob Marley, The Police, Sublime and the like under FMAP records. Coffeebreak Island is inhabited by Paul Puti-An (Vocals/Guitars), Romel Manuel (Bass), Raffie Miranda (Keyboards), and Jun Nogoy (Drums/back up vocals).

Taste the unique blend of Coffeebreak Island as they brew up a night to release your inhibitions with their original compositions from the evolution of sound experimentations on June 2, Saturday 6 p.m. at Tiendesitas, presented by Jack Daniel’s Global Music Tour. Open to everyone. Visit http://www.coffeebreakisland.com for more details.
