Alaminos City, Philippines (AHN) - A start up airline company has announced Tuesday it will deploy amphibian planes from the U.S. this August to fly tourists who want to visit the Hundred Islands National Park located in Alaminos City, Pangasinan, Philippines.
In an interview with the Philippine Daily Inquirer, Jerome John Valera, Aeroflite Airways vice president said, the flight from Manila to Alaminos will take 45 minutes. He said the company plans to start the maiden voyage at the end of this month.
He adds the company is also planning of offering chartered flights to tourists from the Hundred Islands National Park to other tourist destinations in the country. Two 12-seater single engine amphibian aircraft will be available for charters, he said.
Initially, the company is targeting local tourists for their service, but the city government said it will introduce the service as well as the islands to foreign travelers.
Valera said the firm is also looking at other popular tourist destinations in the country such as Boracay, Subic and Clark.
