Bacolod city : the city of smiles

Hello there! Seems it's your first visit on Philippines Travel Blog. You can stay up to date by subscribing to our RSS Feed or even receive updates in your e-mail.

The city of BACOLOD on the northern coast of Negros is another testament to the wonders you can perform with concrete.

masskara festival

It’s big, it’s hot, it’s noisy and there’s not much to see or do. The Old Capitol Building is one of the few architectural highlights and houses the excellent Negros Museum, which details 5000 years of local history. During the third week of October everybody who is anybody attends the flamboyant Masskara Festival, a mardi gras jamboree of street dancing and beauty pageants. The street-dancing participants wear masks, hence the name Masskara.

Thanks for showing the Masskara Festival on your website, it is very beautiful. Looking at the photo makes me feel like going home soon. I’ve not seen the Masskara Festival before and I promised you I will not miss it next year.

    Thanks,
